Herceg Novi, Montenegro Observations

  1. Very tall men, apparently, some of the tallest in Europe.
  2. Living in the ‘City of a Thousand Stairs” and no fast food chains, kids are very fit and are out without their parents and well behaved
  3. Many people smoke.  Local cigarettes cost 1 Euro a pack.
  4. Dogs are well behaved and off-lease everywhere
  5. No tourist traps
  6. Very friendly helpful people
  7. Very few speak English
  8. Russians and Serbians make up the majority of the tourists
  9. No bugs at night thanks to the swallows that live under clay roof tiles and tiny bats
  10. All menus in many languages including English
  11. Many dollar stores, Sve Po 1 Euro (everything for 1 Euro)
  12. Patient courteous drivers
  13. Universal healthcare
  14. Excellent wine and beer
