We slept for 12 hours and then walked into the heart of Valletta, a ten minute climb and had a English breakfast which we knew would keep us fueled for much of the day. We then walked down (up and down is how it goes in Malta ) to the ferry that took us for a 5 minute crossing to Sliema to do our grocery shopping. It got very windy and there was so much dust and sand in the air you could barely see across the harbour. We walked into Valletta and had a very late lunch on a quaint side street, calamari and a steak salad, yum. A light dinner of salami, cheese, crackers and wine was the late night snack.
