Jill and I only eat two meals a day, so no breakfast for us, just lunch and dinner. Today was our longest walk, a little under two hours. Since we have been here, we’ve been craving a bifana, which is basically marinated pork on a bun. The marinade includes white wine, garlic, smoked paprika, piri piri served on a soft bun with mustard. It is more of a quick snack. Today it was served in a Portuguese baguette with fries on the side. At €5.90 each with two medium beers, €16 ($24). A bargain. We stopped by the market to get tonight’s dinner, lemon chicken and garlic in a white wine chicken stock caper sauce with leftover rice, and fried zucchini on top. And a green leaf lettuce salad and cherry tomatoes with on oil and vinegar dressing. Jill kept moaning as I also did. Jill proclaimed it to be the best dish of the trip.
We decided to have a pool rematch. I finally came out the victor. I’m still down three matches to one but I feel the tide is turning. We are loving it here.
Tomorrow, we are taking an Uber to Praia da Rocha, which is east of us and holds lots of memories from a long ago trip with Gay and Roy.
I wonder if Jill is just feeling sorry for you pool record and is taking it easy on you?
