Day 6 Paros to Koufonissi

September 4, 2023

We arrived in Paros late last night and went directly to our portside hotel, Oasis, for a one night stay. We had to do this to coordinate with the ferry to take us to Koufonissi at noon today. We boarded Hellenic Seaways Highspeed 4. It is an Australian built catamaran which holds 1,010 passengers and 188 vehicles and is fast at 38 knots, 10 knots faster than our ferry last night. We had a few hours to walk around Paros this morning and, as I do, took plenty of pics. The fishers were busy repairing their nets - what a tedious task that would be although it looked like it was relaxing. The port is always busy with ferries loading and unloading constantly. Our trip to Koufonissi took 1 hour 40 minutes. All seats are inside unlike last night where we sat enjoying the warm air on the top outside deck.

Our host picked us up at the dock. Our hotel is awesome with cooking facilities and a comfortable balcony with views of the beach and town. It is an ideal spot to watch the sunset. It was almost three by the time we got settled and we were hungry. We had one of the best lunches so far at a restaurant a ten minute walk down the road. We picked up some Greek cheese and olives for our evening snack as the sun goes down.

Tomorrow is beach day. Yahoo!
