Day 4, Alvor, Portugal, May 11, 2025

Another sunny day, but a little chilly in the morning. We decided to walk towards the eastern side of the beach along the sand. The rocks were massive. Lots of clam shells along the beach but none of the small rocks I like to collect when we’re in Greece. We developed an appetite, so we stopped by our local grocery store and picked up some more pork sausages and bread to make lunch. It was time for a pool grudge match and a beer. Jill beat me three games to none. She has become a pool shark. We headed for the pool to have a short snooze in the sun.

We decided to make dinner at home. We picked up a packet of chicken breast, a red pepper, onion, garlic, rice, chicken stock cubes, and leaf lettuce. We dined on our balcony before the sun went down. We enjoy cooking at home because there is no need to spend when we can do better at home. Our bottle of white wine was just €2, and delicious. It is now our go to.

More episodes of Masterchef UK and bed. A great day and more to come.

  1. Has Jill come up with a pool shark name yet, maybe Jersey Jill?

  2. The beach looks beautiful, and so do the meals at Chez Mandico

Day 18, Alvor, Portugal, May 25, 2025

Our last day in Alvor. I was happy to see that the swelling was going down substantially in my foot so we decided to go for one last walk on...
