Day 12, Paleochora, Crete, Greece

Day 12

Here we are half way through our Greek odyssey vacation.  It has felt like forever.  It has been wonderful and we have both been in totally relax mode.  Two more days in Paleochora, then we take the bus to the north coast to Rethymno.

Today was like the others…swim…beach walk…lunch…continue with dot art on stones…swim…beach walk…dinner…sleep, with lots of fun and laughter in between.

When I say swim, I don’t mean just swim.  Jill and I have developed a series of water exercises we do in the water.  When we are exhausted, we walk the beach to dry off, we love the routine. Believe it or not, today was our first day to have a Greek salad with feta cheese.  The woman at the cheese counter cut us a slice of her favourite from the several selections on offer.  I love buying produce on the day it is consumed, a cucumber, tomato and green pepper. The tomatoes here are red all the way through and so tasty.  We already had green and Kalamata olives.  I popped out to the small butcher shop to get two more seasoned ground lamb and beef on a stick which we sautéed in our tiny kitchen.  Lunch on the balcony once again, it was perfect.

More dot art on rocks.  I have a long way to go to be as proficient as my sweetheart.  It is a lot of fun dotting away together.  After a very short snooze, we were off to dinner to Aunt’s Tavern for fried zucchini balls to share and lemon chicken for each of us.  Mama cat and her baby came down to have some chicken and entertained us with their affection for each other.  To finish the meal off, we were brought a small bottle of raki and yogurt topped with candied orange peels on the house.  Another great day.

  1. Your dot art is looking so good and creative! Our temperatures were in the mid 30's. 28 is a super temperature.
