Day 7
We woke up at eight to a blackout, quite common here. After another wonderful breakfast on the roof terrace, they cook with gas, we went for our usual swim and walk on the sandy beach. The water had calmed down from yesterday which saw waves crashing in. We decided to buy a cold bottle of beer at the grocery store and go up to the roof terrace to play scrabble. Soon another beer was in order, as well as some olives, cheese and Mexican corn crackers. Although I had been in the lead for the whole game, when Jill played her last word she beat me. And to top it off it wasn’t a nice word, but a valid one according to the Scrabble dictionary.
After a snooze, we headed out for an early dinner, 6:30 is early here. We decided not to go to the same place twice as there are lots of restaurants to choose from. A small courtyard restaurant called T’ayyedaria looked nice. The girls who greeted us were more than friendly so we stayed. Our meals were delicious and the portions were more than generous. After a thank you raki and baklava bites, we were on our way, but not before walking down the strip and seeing all of the packed restaurants. Children laughing and playing on the closed streets with not a care. A beautiful sight.
Yum! I love what they did to the rooftop terrace.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great shot of Jill with the turquoise necklace.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too. Thanks.
